Jeff Connella was born on April 18, 1969, in Alexandria, Louisiana, where he caught his first bass at age 3. Early on, Jeff exhibited both a passion and a talent for fishing. With his father, Bo Connella, as his teacher and mentor, Jeff developed his fishing skills on various lakes and rivers throughout Louisiana.
In May of 1987, Jeff graduated from Tioga High School. From there, Jeff enrolled in Louisiana Tech University, where he obtained a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering in May of 1993. In June of 1993, Jeff began working for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, where he is currently employed as a professional engineer. Jeff and his wife, Rita, and their daughter, Rebecca, currently reside in Bentley, Louisiana.
Jeff has been fishing bass tournaments since he was 12 years old, winning various tournaments and honors. In 2005, Jeff's lifetime dream came true, as he qualified for the Bassmaster Elite Series Professional Tour. Jeff finished his first year on the professional tour ranked 4th in the Rookie of the Year standings by Bassfan and 57th on the Elite Tour, winning over $58,000. He is looking forward to a great year in 2007.
Jeff attributes his success to the mentoring of his father, the support of his wife and daughter, and the help of the Lord. Jeff's fishing success can be summed up as follows: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
